The documentation of J2SE 5,0 recommends the explicit declaration of serialVersionUID for the serializable class. Our version of the Cocobase generates the class without serialVersionUID. This characteristic and other new features of J2SE 5,0 already are available in some version?

There's no out-of-the-box support for serial UID generation yet. That and many other features are supposed to be included in the next version of CocoBase, due to the first quarter of 2005. But note that all CocoBase code generation is controlled by templates found under %coco_home%\demos\resources. These templates can be easily edited and customized to include a serialVersionUID, which you can provide upon code generation through a template property variable.

If you need more information on how to work with code generation templates, please e-mail to

We hope this helps!
