I am having an issue creating a M_M relationship entry for a new parent object with an existing child object in db using 4.5.8.

The same exact code is working fine with 4.5.6

the log in 4.5.8 is giving me the following entry

skipping insertion of relationship between ..(parent object).. and ..(child)..
it should be inserted by ..(child)..

The child object already exists in db and is added to Navigator by mergeAllLinks on the child object to the navigator.

Is there something new option I need to set?

My model has autonav set to false on the child side not to load the parent since its a much larger number of records (time based data).

No, the insertion of MM relationships should occur just like in previous versions. The one thing you need to make sure though is that the cascade insert flag is set to "true" on both sides of the relationship. Please double check that and if you continue to experience this problem, please send the full level 5 debug log to so we can verify what could possibly be causing it.
